if only we could go back in time…

from left to right: Phil, Breno and Sherlock

Hello folks,

This is my first post here on WP and as the title  says: “if only we could go back in time” (ha!). After one year away from a proper “online presence” I thought it was about time to get the band’s diary up again. It used to be fun in the good old myspace days and I must say that many times the virtual side of the band was much more fun to deal with than the real band itself! If you are a close friend you know what I am talking about!

So here we are in July 2011 (my last blog was in April 2010!). So many things have happened in the last 15 months and I don’t think I should waste my time writing details about the past (by saying “the past” I mean the line up changes we had to go through including its reasons and the all wasted time meeting/auditioning timewasters who said wanted to be in the band, blah blah blah). So I’ll try to focus mainly on “the present”.

If you are reading this now, probably you know that the band is up and running again after a 8 months hiatus. It was hard to find a new bassist and a solid drummer, but now we’ve got them and the wait was worth it!  Sherlock  joined me last Summer and Phil joined us about 6 months ago. Since then, things have just been fun and positive in the band. We have played many gigs in London (and Croydon!) and have worked on a few new songs which is quite refreshing! Now we can have a different set list every time we play and that’s really cool! (But we always miss playing this song, or that song…lol)

Now that things have become stable, I finally thought it was about time to have a proper website and a proper blog going on! (shame that the old blog entries are now lost on myspace… well, they are still there but I don’t think any myspace page will be there for much longer now).

Speaking of the new website, today after uploading some old photos from the past years, I couldn’t help but notice that now, for the first time ever, we don’t have a “bad apple” in the band! I mean, I am not slagging anyone off here, but hindsight is 20/20, isn’t it? Looking at those old photos today, I noticed that in every different line up that we had, there was always at least one bad apple on board! And as the old saying goes: “one bad  apple spoils the barrel”.

All I can say is, I am glad that those old days are gone! Today we had an awesome rehearsal! It was our best jam ever and we are very much looking forward to our gig tomorrow  (technically today) at The Enterprise.

That’s it for now, folks, I am gonna try to publish this entry (still learning how WP works) and sort out the blog’s appearance. Thanks for reading!

Rock on!!

Breno
